Caving
The Trust only arranges caving trips into Reeds Cave. Caving groups wishing to access other caves at the Centre should do so as part of our Group visits arrangement. Cavers wanting to use the Centre as a base for vising caves outside the Centre can book using our Residential use facility.
Special arrangements exist for caving trips into Reeds Cave where visits are restricted to established caving groups of a limited size, led by a guide recognised by the Trust, and with a limit on the number of caving trips in any year. This is because this cave is kept in as undamaged a state as possible in order that it is available for research. It is, in any case, closed during the winter period because of the bats that roost there.
If you wish to access Reeds Cave please use the contact link here. You are welcome to discuss access to Reeds Cave as part of a Group visit or Residential use and this may be possible, depending on your group’s prior caving experience, the time of year, the availability of a leader and whether access can be provided within the terms outlined above.
