carBy car

Buckfastleigh is about halfway between Exeter and Plymouth. From either direction take the A38 dual carriageway. Coming from Exeter leave at the junction with the A384, signposted to Buckfastleigh. Turn right at the top of the sliproad and follow signs to Buckfastleigh (not Buckfast). Cross the River Dart, bear left at the mini roundabout and look for Russetts Lane on the right just after the brow of the hill (itโ€™s hard to see but is opposite a road sign showing a right-hand bend). Coming from Plymouth leave the A38 at the junction showing Dean Prior and Buckfastleigh. Turn right at the foot of the sliproad and continue for 1ยฝ miles. After a garage on the left and a left-hand bend look for Russetts Lane on the left.

Russetts Lane is a steep and narrow road; near the top follow round the S-bend to the Centre car park.

busBy bus

Buses run to Buckfastleigh to and from Exeter and Ivybridge via Stagecoach service 38, and to and from Totnes and Newton Abbot via Country Bus service 88. The closest bus stops are outside the garage and at Dart Bridge (directions are provided above); Russetts Lane is a short walk from either stop.

trainBy train

The nearest mainline station is Totnes. From there, you can take Country Bus service 88 (stop B on Ashburton Road at the station entrance), a taxi (about 6 miles), or travel on the South Devon Railwayโ€”a heritage railway that runs directly to Buckfastleigh from alongside Totnes station, though its timetable is more focused on summer tourist and holiday periods. If using a taxi, ask for the entrance to Buckfastleigh station; turn right on the main road and Russetts Lane is 100 yards on the left.
